Sophia Burns

Sophia Burns is Italian-Irish by descent and has been open about the fact that her personal life and her professional one operate by different rules. She trains Muay Thai with the seriousness of someone who found it late and got hooked fast, and she talks about healthy cooking the way converts talk about religion — a recent shift, not a lifelong habit. Outside of work she moves in spaces that have nothing to do with it: anime forums, retro gaming communities, the kind of corners of the internet where nobody cares who she is on camera. She has traveled to Japan and the Czech Republic, and it is not entirely clear in which capacity. She runs her own platform independently, which means the decisions about what gets made and what doesn't are entirely hers. She has said publicly that she will work with anyone professionally but keeps her personal relationships on a different, deliberate track — a line she draws clearly and without apparent apology.
