Editorial

Remy LaCroix arrived in adult film the way she seems to do most things — on her own terms and at full intensity. Before the cameras, she was a fixture on the festival circuit, performing fire dancing, aerial silks, and hula-hooping at events including Burning Man, where the line between art and spectacle is the whole point. That background gave her something most performers simply don't have: a trained, expressive body and an instinct for performance that reads as completely authentic on screen. She entered the industry in December 2011 with a scene for the legendary Kink.com — not exactly a soft landing — and immediately registered as someone worth watching. Early recognition was swift. She earned the AVN Award for Best New Starlet in 2013, the same year XBIZ recognized her in the couples-themed category for Torn, a film that demonstrated her range well beyond the expected. By 2014, she had claimed both the AVN Award for Best Actress and the XRCO Female Performer of the Year — a rare double that placed her among the genuine elite of her era. LA Weekly and CNBC both named her among the industry's most significant rising figures in 2013 and 2014. A brief hiatus and a short-lived contract with ArchAngel Productions in late 2014 — terminated within three months — revealed her preference for creative control over institutional comfort. In 2016, she served as a judge on The Sex Factor, the adult industry's answer to reality competition television, before stepping back from shooting entirely due to pregnancy. Her return, announced in 2020 and realized with a scene for the Bellesa studio released in September 2022, was characteristically deliberate. She chose a platform known for female-forward, aesthetically conscious production — which tells you everything about how she thinks about her work.
