She grew up in Midland, Michigan — a small city most people skip past — as the oldest of four sisters in a conservative household. Softball was her structure through childhood and into college, where she played for a full four years. Whatever she imagined her life becoming after that, it wasn't this, and she's been candid about the gap between where she came from and where she ended up.
She moved to California alone. No safety net, no industry contact waiting. She'd been dancing before that, and the move into adult work came after. She has described finding a freedom in this career that her upbringing didn't offer — particularly around her pansexuality, which she's public about and says the industry gave her space to explore honestly.
What she doesn't talk around is the harder part: she has spoken directly about addiction, suicidal ideation, and the road to sobriety, treating those subjects without euphemism in interviews and on podcast appearances. Her family knows what she does and has stayed close. She directs now, and has talked about a specific passion for gay adult content — an interest she pursues creatively rather than as a performer.
